Elliot Osrin

fannexstraighthair.jpg Elliot Mathew Osrin, (born August 24th 1990) is an American artist, film director, producer, screenwriter, and editor. He was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and is the grandson of the late Cleveland Plain Dealer cartoonist, Ray Osrin. His great grandfather also helped restore paintings and statues at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in South Miami. Osrin has an extensive artistic family history in the entertainment business. His uncle, Armando Nunez Sr. worked for ITC International, and his cousin Armando Nunez Jr. is the President of CBS Paramount International. Elliot Osrin is also the founder and CEO of Osrin Entertainment; a production house based in Miami, Florida and Los Angeles California, which helps produce student films.

From an early age, Osrin discovered his ability to paint, sketch, draw, and write. At age ten, Osrin’s artwork was displayed in Miami’s Design District. Throughout his early teens he would toy with an amateur video camera; making short films using his family and friends as actors. Early in middle school, Osrin received the "Most Outstanding Award" along with praise from his classmates and teachers for his work in Doral Academy's Television Production department. His natural story telling abilities and creativity later prompted him to turn his passion, into a career.

Osrin graduated from Christopher Columbus High School in 2008, where he played football throughout his four years. He is also an alumni of Miami-Dade College's School of Entertainment and Design Technology. While attending Miami-Dade College, Osrin helped found The Miami-Dade College Film Society; a club aimed at helping young film students expand their creativity within the medium. He was also one of a handful of students to direct his student film that semester.

When he was 18, he began writing a screenplay for a 60 minute experimental project entitled "Joker", based on the graphic novel by Brian Azzarello. He went on to direct, produce, write, and edit the film which took four solid months to shoot during the humid South Florida summer, balanced with school. The crew was made up of more than 20 talented young artists within the age group of 18-23, all of whom were very close friends of Osrin. It was shot on a Canon XH A1, and is currently in post-production.

In 2010 he moved to California, where he began his career as an intern for CBS Marketing. He worked five days a week and was a frequent guest of the promotion editing department.

Elliot Osrin currently resides in Los Angeles, California where he continues his filmmaking career.
